Multiple items appear throughout the Mario galaxy that help him in his adventures. Many of these items are either in the shape of an ag item or are based on one.
Mushrooms, for example, play the biggest role in the game. Most of the mushrooms Mario finds make him stronger or provide him with a special ability.
Flowers, fruit and peppers are also important to Mario.
A fire flower allows him to shoot fireballs while some fruits and peppers allow him to transform into different characters.
