CGC Looking For Harvest Samples

Oct 05, 2015
As combines continue to run across the Prairies, the Canadian Grain Commission (CGC) is hoping more harvest samples will continue to roll in.

So far they've received over 4000, but they're still looking for more samples of wheat, pulses, and oilseeds to assess crop quality and promote the sale of Canadian grain by compiling data online for potential buyers.

Program manager Twylla McKendry says when producers send samples in, they'll receive third-party, unbiased assessment on grade and protein for wheat, with additional information for oilseeds, such as chlorophyll content for canola and iodine value for flaxseed.
