As part of our ongoing commitment to biosecurity and maintaining a high health status for our Alberta herd, Alberta Pork has created a new Biosecurity Risk Assessment for use with your herd health veterinarian.
This new assessment has been developed from the old Canadian Swine Health Board Risk Assessment with feedback from several of our key industry veterinarians. Changes to the assessment include more in-depth questions on protocols as well as the assignment of a risk level to focus attention and action on your farm’s highest risk areas.
To help you get the greatest possible benefit from this assessment by completing it with the assistance of your veterinarian, Alberta Pork is rolling out Year One of its Producer Biosecurity Audit Program on September 1, 2014.
Under this program, Alberta Pork will reimburse all producers to a maximum of $500.00 per premises/PID for completion of the assessment with their heard health veterinarian. To be eligible for reimbursement, the producer must:
