Farmers will have the opportunity to see first-hand the latest and greatest agricultural equipment and services available at this year’s Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show (COFS) in Woodstock, Ont.

Not surprisingly, there are lots of new and innovative products and attractions that will be showcased at the show. For the first time, seven Danish agribusiness will be in attendance to introduce Canadian farmers to their European offerings, with a particular focus on swine technology. The delegation of companies has a designated area at the show located at the Danish Pavilion.

One of the most popular features at the farm show are the demonstrations. These events allow farmers to see products in action, often making it an easier sell for producers who are looking to invest big bucks into cutting edge technology and equipment.

New demonstrations:

  • Manure spill demo
  • Toyota test drive activation
  • Corn silage harvesting demo
  • Cover crop tillage demo
  • Silage bailing demo
  • Skid steer ride ‘n’ drive
  • Corn stalk bailing demo
  • Sprayer demo
  • Tempo planter demo
  • Nuhn lagoon crawler demo

More information about each demo can be found at the COFS website.

Advancements have also been made to COFS grounds. The popular Britespan Dairy Innovation Centre has a new look, a Dairy Pavilion has been added and the Dairy Producer Pavilion will host first-time exhibitors.  Dairy farmers will also be able to view dairy pictures, videos and product information on a massive 9’ by 15’ TV screen, fitting for a technology-focused show. Like years past, the live robotic milking demonstrations will be back.

Since the show’s inception in 1994, it has grown substantially. Today, it will welcome 750 exhibitors on over 40 hectares of land, making it the largest outdoor agricultural trade show in Canada. The show has become so widely received that afterhour events have been added. On the opening day there will be three events, including an Ontario Federation of Agriculture young farmer tailgate party, 4-H Ontario alumni reception, and a CAMA event.

The Farms.com booth is located on 5th Lane North, and Ag Buyers Guide is located in the Ag-Biz Pavilion. COFS runs from Sept. 9 to 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
