Reducing Regulatory Burdens on Cattle Producers

One of Agriculture Minister Jack Hayden’s priorities is to reduce regulatory burdens on producers. He reinforced that commitment to beef producers at last night’s Beef Industry Conference in Red Deer, where he spoke about a grant to Livestock Identification Services to cover the cost of livestock inspection for Alberta beef producers who graze their cattle in Saskatchewan or British Columbia. Cliff Munroe, director of Regulatory Services, joins us on the line with more details.

As Munroe mentioned, this grant will cover inspection costs of cattle that temporarily move into Saskatchewan or British Columbia for the 2010 grazing season which starts in April.
