Who are some of the speakers at the Farms.com 2015 Precision Agriculture Conference?
Aaron Breimer is the rugby-playing, scuba-diving loving agronomist described above. He was born and raised on a cash crop farm in northern Middlesex County close to the town of Ailsa Craig. He has worked with Veritas as an agronomist and sales agronomist for the past four years.
The Vice-President & Deputy Chief Economist at a major Canadian bank is Aron Gampel. Aron works for Scotiabank as a senior advisor to the Bank’s executive management, as well as to the organization’s diverse customer base in Canada and internationally.
The “management zone” loving grain farmer from southern Iowa is Dave Scott, the Senior Account Manager for GEOSYS. Dave works with customers to incorporate the GEOSYS suite of solutions.
Doug Aspinall is the pedologist (someone who studies soils) as well as a pedometrician – someone who uses mathematical and statistical techniques to study soil. Doug is a senior OMAFRA staff soil scientist with more than 30 years of experience in Ontario soil mapping. He is currently applying innovative predictive digital soil mapping (PDSM) approaches to renew Ontario’s soil maps at sentinel locations to support Lake Erie and southern Lake Huron shoreline regions.
Felix Weber is the early innovator of UAV’s in agriculture who works with a Swiss-based company on Pix4D research. For over 20 years, Felix has explored new technological and agricultural practices that would increase the productivity for clients, as well as for his own operation. In addition to his Pix4D work, he is currently working on projects with OMAFRA, and camera, colour and frequency research for different projects.
