Missouri Students Participate in 2015 Youth Swine Judging Contest

Columbia, Mo.,— On Friday, August 14, over 70 FFA and 4-H members participated in the 2015 Youth Swine Judging Contest at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia. Winners were announced in both the Junior and Senior Division on an individual basis and as a team. The contest, sponsored by the Missouri Pork Association, consisted of four swine judging classes and two sets of ten questions.

In the Senior Division, top team honors went to the Top Gun Team from the Chillicothe area. Team members included Joel Martin, Gunnar Leach, Ben Jones and Zach Trout. The second place Princeton Team included Shambree Hagan, Savannah Millburn, Brylee Williams and Eli Henke. In third place was the Cuba FFA Team of Katelynn Priest, Dustin Daehn, Katy Watson and Walker Romine. The top individual in the Senior Division went to Katelynn Priest.

In the Junior Division, top team honors went to the Girl Power Team—members included Callie Jennings, Tyne Wilson, Lauren Robinson and Annie Robinson. The second place Show Me 4-H Team included Rylee Johnson, Wade Horton, Tucker Burtch and Dolan Huber. In third place was the Martin Family Team of Curtis Humphreys, Colin Humphreys and Elliott Cooley. Curtis Humphreys was the top individual in the Junior Division.

The top three teams and the highest individual in each division receive a cash award.
