The Manitoba government is inviting people across the province to recognize the many contributions of agriculture and take part in Farm and Food Awareness Week, Sept. 14 to 20, Agriculture Minister Ron Kostyshyn announced today.
“Farm and Food Awareness Week is an opportunity to connect with the people who grow our food and to recognize the harvest season,” said Kostyshyn. “By choosing local ingredients, Manitobans are supporting farmers, food processors and local businesses, while also strengthening our communities and contributing to a sustainable and resilient food system. This week is about recognizing the people and communities who bring Manitoba’s food from farm to table.”
This year’s theme – Seize the Season: Appreciating Manitoba’s Harvest – encourages Manitobans to make the most of fall by engaging with nature, spending time with family and friends, cooking and baking with local seasonal produce, and exploring Manitoba’s farms, food, and communities. The theme highlights the importance of supporting local farmers and producers.
