High-Yielding Cotton in Louisiana Deserves Recognition

Dec 07, 2017

The Stoneville® Legacy Club™ recognizes the advanced knowledge and skill it takes for cotton growers to maximize yield and profit potential, as well as produce high-quality fiber. Registration is available now for growers in the Delta region. Those with yields that rank in the top 10 percent of their state will win an all-expenses paid trip. Additionally, all who apply will be entered into a drawing for $500.

To qualify for the Stoneville Legacy Club, growers must plant 100-percent Stoneville cotton seed on at least 20 qualifying acres from January 1–December 31, 2017.

“Growers in the Delta region face environmental stressors that can impact their ability to get a stand and ultimately yield potential,” says Jason Wistehuff, U.S. product manager for Stoneville cotton. “Stoneville varieties, bred from elite germplasm, provide the early season vigor and the in-season strength growers count on to tackle these agronomic issues and harvest high yields.”

“For the second year in a row, we look forward to celebrating those successes and honoring new elite growers into the Legacy Club,” adds Lauren Lechner, Stoneville campaign manager. “These high-end harvest results are proof that we are delivering the science growers need to complement their management skills.”
