Agriculture & Agri-Food Canada recently launched consultations on a proposal to make major changes to the way that research and variety development is funded for many major Canadian crops. In this session, AAFC will present two options for variety development funding of Canadian crops going forward: end point royalties and trailing contracts. This Q&A session will give farmers an opportunity to provide feedback directly to AAFC as part of the ongoing consultation and understand how farmers will be impacted with respect to all farmer-directed research.
Registration for CropSphere is NOT required for this session. The session will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 PM on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at TCU Place in Saskatoon. All farmers are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
Saskatchewan Pulse Growers, SaskCanola, SaskOats, SaskFlax, Sask Wheat, and SaskBarley have partnered to host this session.
