In the Southern Prairies region, which includes Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, and Winnipeg, Canadians there can expect above normal temperatures and above normal levels of precipitation.
For context, the temperature in Calgary drops to or below −20°C for 22 days each year.
And in Regina, the average winter temperature is about -11°C.
The coldest periods for this region will occur in late November, early December, and early February.
The almanac’s predictions say the region will experience below normal levels of snowfall.
But those who love outdoor winter activities can expect the snowiest periods to occur in late November and early December.
Further west, B.C. can also expect temperatures above normal in the area including Cranbrook, Prince George, and Vancouver.
In Cranbrook, for example, the average winter temperature is about -8.3°C.
Canadians there could see below normal levels of precipitation in the north, and higher than normal levels in the south.
The coldest periods are scheduled to happen in late November, early December, and early February. The snowiest periods are expected in late November, and early and mid-December.
