Redesigned model offers flexible drives and added options
Loftness Specialized Equipment has launched its redesigned L1230 lime and fertilizer spreader, engineered for precision and efficiency in today’s agricultural operations. The updated model gives producers a choice between two innovative drive systems and several customizable features.
Farmers seeking advanced technology can select the variable-rate drive, which connects seamlessly to ISOBUS-equipped tractors and major controllers. This system supports fertilizer prescriptions and provides automatic rate adjustments for accurate field application.
The new Loftness hydraulic fixed-rate drive is another standout option. It functions like a traditional ground drive but uses speed sensors and a hydraulic conveyor to automatically match spreading rates to ground speed. This design reduces maintenance needs and avoids the mechanical wear common in chain-and-sprocket systems, especially when backing up or transporting equipment.
Additional customization comes with the option of row crop or walking tandem wheels to fit different field conditions. The spreader’s belt-over-chain conveyor handles both lime and fertilizer, while an integrated agitator ensures a consistent flow. Its stainless-steel hopper features 50-degree slopes and no internal obstructions, helping materials move smoothly to the spinners.
