TractorMaster tires are equipped with D.fine technology

A German tire manufacturer is expanding its lineup of farm tires.
Continental has unveiled its TractorMaster line of tires, which build on the Tractor70 and Tractor85 tires the company introduced last year.
The TractorMaster tires feature a new lug technology that Continental calls D.fine. It provides a 5 percent larger lug surface than other tractor tires, which helps with performance.
“Designed with a flat front slope, the lugs firmly grip the ground beneath the tire to keep driving the tractor forward without slipping,” Ralf Krieger, Continental’s head of development and industrialization of agriculture tires, told Farms.com today in an email. “On the field, the benefit to farmers is high traction and, on the road, better mileage.
“The TractorMaster design features a smooth linkage between block and base to resist stress and damage while providing traction.”
Farmers can purchase these tires beginning in mid-September. They will first be offered in 540/65R28 and 650/65R38.
The tires are designed for speeds of up to 40mph (64km/h). They can be installed on tractors, combines or sprayers.
A good set of tires on a tractor can help with other areas of performance, Krieger said.
“The efficiency of a tractor can be measured in different ways, but the most popular are fuel consumption per acre or acres per hour,” he said. “For specific field operations, both can be positively influenced by over 30 percent by choosing the right tire with proper inflation.”
