Weekend rain improving crops and pastures around Saskatchewan

Jun 04, 2018

Recent moisture will improve many crops and pastures across a wide area of southern Saskatchewan.

Weather office officials say the moisture ranged from 20 to 50 millimeters or more.

The regional crop specialist in Kindersley in west central Saskatchewan, John Ippolito, says some farmers needed the moisture for proper crop germination this spring.

Meanwhile, regional crop specialist in Weyburn in the southeast, Sherri Roberts, says the moisture provides a big boost to newly seeded crops.
