Farmers are starting to see more weeds in the fields.
Kim Brown-Livingston is Manitoba Agriculture's Weed Specialist.
"It's still early days yet. The rain was a godsend on a number of fronts, but it has started the weeds growing. The crops are starting to really take off. We're kind of at the tail end of the burn off season. We still have some land to be seeded and some of the later seeded stuff isn't quite up yet, but with these warm temperatures and the reason rains, the crops are coming up very quickly."
She commented on the types of weeds showing up.
