Walmart is bringing a new $350 million milk processing plant to Lowndes County.
The new development will use ingredients from local farmers in the Valdosta area. It will then be sold at more than 700 different stores in Georgia and neighboring states.
"Walmart is committed to delivering high-quality milk to meet the growing demand of our customers," Bruce Heckman, Walmart’s vice president of manufacturing, said in a statement.
In a press release on Thursday, Georgia’s governor Brian Kemp said the facility would also bring 400 additional jobs to Lowndes County, which would help boost the state’s growing agriculture industry.
