President Trump mentions support for farmers beginning at 20:47.
Indeed, the U.S. has taken in billions of dollars of tariff revenue this year.
The U.S. has collected $214.9 billion in tariffs in 2025, Fox Business reported citing Treasury Department data.
To put that dollar amount into context, the Vogtle Electric Generating Plant in Waynesboro, Ga., a nuclear power plant considered the most expensive building in the U.S., cost just shy of $56 billion to construct all four reactors.
Farmers could hear more details about the support package soon.
While appearing on CNBC on Oct. 2, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said news could come next week.
“You should expect some news on Tuesday on substantial support for our farmers, especially the soybean farmers,” he said.
The administration will also be working with the Farm Credit Bureau to put farmers in good positions for the 2026 planting season, Bessent added.
While news of the support package may come next week, farmers may not receive any of it until the new year.
“Trump officials expect that Congress will need to authorize the use of tariff revenue for the farm aid package and are hoping lawmakers will include it in their omnibus package due by Nov. 21, according to three people familiar with the talks,” Politico reported. “That means the rollout of cash will likely start in early 2026.”
Bessent mentions the support for farmers beginning at 9:09.
