Pelta optimizes seed size and uniformity for more accurate seed placement, greater survivability, and stronger stand establishment. Enabling accurate seed placement removes one variable at seeding time and helps maximize canola hybrid performance and yield potential. Plants that are seeded accurately develop more uniformly and don’t compete for resources.
Consistent seed size allows for the use of singulation planter technology, effectively transforming canola from a solid-seeded crop into a row crop.
Syngenta research trials have shown that Pelta, combined with singulation planting technology, improved canola emergence by up to 40 percent.
“We are proud to be offering a solution that provides a less stressful and more effective start to the season,” says Shad Milligan, Seedcare Technical Lead with Syngenta Canada. “Our Pelta trial results are strong, and we are excited to get this technology onto more canola seed.”
Pelta technology is offered in combination with the most comprehensive canola seed treatment package available: Helix® Saltro® plus Fortenza® Advanced for control of flea beetles and cutworms, plus a broad spectrum of seedling diseases, including protection from air-borne blackleg infection.
