Superior livestock's impressive 2023 - Record cattle sales and value-added success

At the recent 2024 Superior Livestock Bellringer Sale held in Oklahoma City, President Danny Jones provided insights into the cattle industry's performance in 2023 and shared his outlook for 2024. 

Jones expressed satisfaction with this year's Bellringer Sale, which featured around 110,000 cattle. He also highlighted the remarkable achievements of Superior Livestock in 2023, marking the third consecutive year of substantial growth with an impressive increase of 205,000 cattle sales. 

Superior Livestock's success extends beyond increased cattle sales, as the organization has experienced significant growth in value-added programs. Jones explained how these programs, initially niche markets, have now become a significant segment of the industry. 

These value-added programs have not only attracted more buyers but have also garnered support from end users such as feedlots and packers, ensuring mutual benefits for both buyers and sellers. 

Jones emphasized the importance of proper cattle handling, from vaccinations to overall care, applauding ranchers for their dedication to responsible practices. Ranchers take pride in their work and welcome recognition for their contributions. 

Looking ahead to 2024, Jones expressed optimism about another year of growth for Superior Livestock. He reaffirmed the organization's commitment to supporting various methods of cattle marketing and its comprehensive involvement in the cattle marketing process.
