Sherri Grant Named 2018 Food and Farming Champion

In the last few years, there’s been a real push in the agriculture industry for farmers and ranchers to tell their story and set the record straight when it comes to any misconceptions about agriculture.

Sherri Grant ranches at Val Marie with her husband Lynn and family and has been helping to educate people about agriculture.

She especially enjoys promoting agriculture and the beef industry with students about where their food comes from, life on the ranch, and the beef sector.

Grant received the Food and Farm Care Saskatchewan “2018 Food and Farming Champion Award” for sharing her passion and dedication of agriculture with others.

She is an avid photographer, rancher and promoter of the Agriculture Industry.

Grant has been delivering her message over the years in a variety of ways from working with students in the Agri-Ed program at Canadian Western Agribition, and other events to helping co-author an educational children’s book for students “Where beef comes from.”

“They’re not close to seeing where foods produced; they don’t have gardens in their back yard. They don’t really have a connection with how that food is grown; for them, it simply comes from the grocery store or the restaurant. ”

Grant enjoys talking about the industry and sharing her story noting that it’s important that consumers have a better understanding of food production.
