South Dakota State University Extension’s 2024 Crop Hour webinar series will start Jan. 9, with webinars hosted from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. CST every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for nine weeks.
This is the fourth year SDSU Extension has hosted Crop Hour. The 2024 series will focus on emerging crop production and current pest issues.
“In an ever-changing business environment, farmers and agronomists have to make a conscious effort to stay updated on the latest management practices, opportunities and technologies,” said Sara Bauder, SDSU Extension Forage Field Specialist. “We know that a large portion of our audience finds webinars a convenient and effective way to consume new information.”
Weekly topics are:
Jan. 9-11: Corn
Jan. 16-18: Precision agriculture
Jan. 23-25: Soybeans
Jan. 30-Feb. 1: Small grains
Feb. 6-8: Soil health
Feb. 13-15: Sunflowers and pulse crops
Feb. 20-22: Climate and business management
Feb. 27-29: Forages
March 5-7: Specialty crops
Crop Hour is free to attend. Registration is required for participants to receive the Zoom link. Register at the SDSU Extension Crop Hour page.
All Crop Hour presentations will be recorded and available on the SDSU Extension YouTube channel. Certified crop advisors can earn continuing education units (CEUs) by attending the live webinar or completing the online course that will be available after the webinar.
