Manitoba Agriculture's Pulse Specialist Dennis Lange expects yields for pulse crops will be variable this year.
"Early estimates for provincial yields for peas are going to be somewhere between 35 and 40 bushels per acre for an average," said Lange. "Much lower than what we've seen last year at the high of 57."
Lange touched on dry beans.
"We're probably going to be looking at somewhere between an average to slightly below average, depending on what area that you're in. The Winkler area is a little drier than it is further north. We're probably going to be looking at an average yield, somewhere around 1,400 tp 1,500 pounds per acre. That rain will benefit those dry beans at this point."
