Ottawa and Quebec announce implementation of the Canadian Agricultural Partnership in Quebec

The Government of Canada and the Government of Quebec have signed a new bilateral agreement that will stimulate growth of Quebec agriculture and agri-food sector, allowing it to reach new heights.
 
Starting April 1st 2018, the Canadian Agricultural Partnership will provide the agriculture and agri-food sector with financial support for strategic initiatives and for businesses risk management programs over the next five years.
 
Federal Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Lawrence MacAulay, and Quebec Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, Laurent Lessard, made the announcement, stating that the Partnership will, for 2018-2023, build on the success of the Growing Forward 2 strategic framework.
 
The Canadian Agricultural Partnership is a $3-billion investment by the federal, provincial and territorial governments. It will chart a course for the future of the Canadian agriculture and agri-food sector, helping it to innovate, grow and prosper.
