Oasthouse Ventures Expands Greenhouse Farming in America

Enhancing U.S. Agriculture with Innovative Greenhouse Cluster

Oasthouse Ventures has officially launched the construction of what will be the largest greenhouse cluster in the United States, strategically located in Virginia. 

This significant development aims to address the growing reliance on imported fresh produce by promoting domestic production under controlled, technologically advanced conditions.

The project will commence its first phase by creating 118 new jobs, reflecting a broader impact on regional prosperity estimated at around $1.1 billion.

Set to begin operations in 2026, the initiative will focus on producing high-quality, fresh produce such as tomatoes, which are currently largely imported.

Ben Alexander of Oasthouse Ventures expressed gratitude for the extensive support from local and international partners: "I am immensely grateful to the Governor of Virginia, VA Secretary of Agriculture Matt Lohr, Senator Mark Warner, and Congressman Morgan Griffiths for their support in developing this project."

The company, known for its innovative approaches to sustainable agriculture, plans to employ veterans and provide fresh produce to local communities, reinforcing its commitment to social and economic sustainability.

By reducing the distance between production and consumption, Oasthouse Ventures aims to ensure that consumers receive fresher, more nutritious produce, thereby setting a new benchmark in the agricultural sector.
