National Day for Truth & Reconciliation

Oct 14, 2025

As today, September 30th, marks the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to reflect on the painful legacy of Canada’s residential school system. We invite you to engage in resources and actions that honour the survivors of residential schools and the intergenerational harm and ongoing injustice that Indigenous communities face today. One of the most important things we can do is commit to listening to Indigenous voices, to recognize the truths they have long spoken, and to act on what we learn.

The resources below provide pathways to begin or continue this work:

“Together, Canadians must do more than just talk about reconciliation; we must learn how to practice reconciliation in our everyday lives – within ourselves and our families, and in our communities, governments, places of worship, schools and workplaces. To do so constructively, Canadians must remain committed to the ongoing work of establishing and maintaining respectful relationships.”
