A Precision Ag Data Collection Workshop is scheduled for August 24 and August 25, 2015 at the Kentucky Soybean Promotion Board Office in Princeton, Kentucky. The endeavour is part 5 in a series. Dr. Joe Luck at Nebraska (and a UK grad) is coordinating the workshop. Other speakers include Dr. Mike Sama and Dr. Josh McGrath (both at the University of Kentucky). Dr. John Fulton at Ohio State and Dr. Brian Luck at Wisconsin (both UK grads) will also be presenting. The session is $25 and space is limited. Please register your spot.

Day One will focus on the acquiring and analyzing some of the more basic data layers (soil sampling, field boundaries, and yield) that are necessary to get started in variable rate management. The day will be focused on presentations by project team members along with brief, guided exercises using SMS software from Ag Leader. Actual datasets will be used for these exercises to give attendees a real-world experience with Precision Ag data analysis.

Day Two will focus more on developing variable rate plans for field applications and on-farm research trials. Presentations from the project team will be coupled with data analysis exercises to help attendees understand the different methods available for creating prescriptions.

The workshop is sponsored by the Kentucky Corn Growers and Kentucky Soybean Board. Please register your spot.
