A Young Dairy Farmer Shares Her Daily Farm Life Journey
When someone hears “dairy farmer,” they may not expect a young woman to answer. But for many farmers today, dedication and passion matter more than stereotypes. A dairy farmer finds joy not only in caring for her cows but also in helping others learn about where their food comes from.
One of her favorite parts of the job is teaching school children about farming. She reads farm books, leads crafts, and answers curious questions from kids and their parents. Many are surprised to learn basic facts about food and farming. Helping them connect farm life to the food on their table brings her great happiness.
On the farm, she milks around 100 cows twice daily, feeds calves, and takes care of other chores like cleaning, treating sick animals, and maintaining the barn. While the tasks are the same each day, unexpected moments—like a newborn calf or a sick animal—make each day different.
