Eggs in Incubators on May 1 Down 11 Percent from Last Year

Turkey eggs in incubators on May 1, 2013, in the United States totaled 26.3 million, down 11 percent from May 1, 2012. Eggs in incubators were down 4 percent from the April 1, 2013 total of 27.5 million eggs. 

Poults Hatched During April Down 5 Percent from Last Year

Turkey poults hatched during April 2013, in the United States totaled 23.0 million, down 5 percent from April 2012. Poults hatched were up 6 percent from the March 2013 total of 21.7 million poults. 

Net Poults Placed During April Down 9 Percent from Last Year

The 22.4 million net poults placed during April 2013 in the United States were down 9 percent from the number placed during the same month a year earlier. Net placements were up 6 percent from the March 2013 total of
21.2 million.
