After a nearly two-month pause in federal reporting during the government shutdown, Nebraska’s Crop Progress update resumes with a look at late-season harvest activity and early winter wheat development. Soybean and dry bean harvest have already wrapped up across the state, while corn and sorghum continue to push toward completion. Winter wheat planting is essentially finished, emergence is near average, and the crop enters late fall with mostly fair to good conditions.
For the week ending Nov. 23, 2025, producers averaged 5.7 days suitable for fieldwork. Topsoil moisture was rated 13% very short, 34% short, 52% adequate and 1% surplus, while subsoil moisture was 10% very short, 37% short, 51% adequate and 2% surplus.
