Canada's canola crush is running well ahead of the year-ago pace.
According to a story in the Western Producer, the latest numbers of stats-Can suggest four months into the new crop year, more than 3.3 million tonnes of canola have been crushed.
That's an increase of more than 8 per cent from a year ago at the same time. The amount of canola oil produced rose more than 8 per cent from year to year.
Canola meal was up almost 9 per cent. The report says domestic use of canola helped reduce the overall impact of China closing its border to our canola seed, which began in March.
