Bipartisan Effort Seeks to Extend E15 Fuel Sales through 2025 Summer
Senator John Hoeven, alongside Senate Majority Leader John Thune and other bipartisan members, has formally requested President to approve the continuous sale of E15 fuel throughout the summer of 2025. This initiative aims to bolster America's energy independence and provide economic relief by reducing fuel prices.
E15, a higher blend of biofuels, has been intermittently approved for summer sales in past years. These actions, initiated in 2019, underscore the significant benefits of biofuels in supporting the domestic fuel supply and promoting agricultural productivity.
"To meet our nation’s energy needs and decrease the cost of fuel, we must deploy an all-of-the-above energy strategy, which includes leveraging domestic biofuels,” the senators wrote in their bipartisan letter.
The endorsement of year-round E15 usage aligns with broader efforts to enhance energy supply chains and alleviate costs for American consumers. By issuing a nationwide waiver for the 2025 summer driving season, the senators believe they can further these aims effectively.
