Ag Tires In Short Supply

Farmers have been having a hard time finding tires, due to a number of supply chain issues.

Peter Teichroeb, with Sun Valley Tire in Winkler, says tires that are available are sometimes costing more to purchase.

"I know that there have been companies that have been calling us from all over the place. They've been calling from out west, from Edmonton, Calgary, and Saskatchewan. There's been a lot of different retail stores that have been calling us to see if we have tire products as well because some of the farmers aren't able to get the tires that they would want," he commented. "Sometimes you are able to substitute a different tire in a different name brand, even though they didn't want that tire but they obviously need to get on the field and get the job done. They have to sometimes go to a different product."

If farmers are thinking about changing tires in the spring, Teichroeb suggests they make plans sooner than later to make sure they get the tires they want.
