Farmers in Illinois helped 2014’s farm cash receipts reach $19 billion. The state is home to 74,500 farms which stretch nearly 27 million acres. Illinois ranked 2nd in the United States in terms of corn and soybean production in 2014, valued at more than $8.5 billion and $5 billion respectively.
