NCBA urges House to pass bill swiftly and send it to President Trump

Today, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, Ethan Lane, expressed gratitude to the Senate for passing the One Big Beautiful Bill. Lane called for swift action by the House to pass the revised bill so it can be signed into law by President Trump.

“This bill will protect family farmers and ranchers from massive tax hikes at the end of the year,” said Lane. The Senate’s version of the bill includes significant provisions to support the agricultural industry, including an increase in the Death Tax exemption, a permanent Section 199A tax deduction, and an increased Section 179 tax deduction. Additionally, the bill provides funding for foreign animal disease prevention programs, which is critical for safeguarding livestock health.

Lane also highlighted the Senate version’s exclusion of controversial provisions. Notably, it does not include any proposals for the sale of public lands, nor does it feature language related to eminent domain, which NCBA strongly opposes. The association's grassroots policy supports landowners' private property rights, and NCBA is committed to protecting those rights in any legislative action.

The NCBA urges the House to act quickly and pass the revised bill, ensuring that it can reach President Trump’s desk for final approval. If passed, the bill will deliver crucial support to cattle producers, strengthening the industry’s foundation for the future.
