Farmers And Experts to Discuss Conservation Plans
On February 14, 2025, NRCS Oregon will host the Crook County Local Work Group Meeting at the OSU Extension Office, Clover Building, Prineville, Oregon, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This meeting will bring together farmers, ranchers, conservation groups, and government agencies to discuss conservation priorities and investment opportunities.
The agenda includes a review of past NRCS initiatives, such as the Conant Creek Watershed, Crook County Aspen Restoration, and Lower Crooked River RCPP projects.
Attendees will also receive updates on current conservation strategies, including the Sage Grouse Initiative, Powell Butte Irrigation Efficiency, and Upper Crooked River Forestry projects.
At 11:30 a.m., the discussion will focus on future conservation investment strategies, featuring updates on the McKay Creek RCPP and Crook County Soil Survey.
