“These families deserve to be celebrated for their involvement in and contribution to Missouri agriculture,” Missouri State Fair director Mark Wolfe said. “The Fair is the premier agriculture showcase in the state and is certainly the ideal venue to honor these families.”
Additionally, the family names and respective counties will be displayed at an exhibit in the Historic Administration Building.
Members of the honored families will be wearing green ribbons and visitors are encouraged to say hello and thank them.
Nominations are also open for the Missouri Agriculture Awards. They’re scheduled to be awarded during the Missouri Governor’s Conference on Agriculture on Friday, December 16.
Award categories include innovation, environmental stewardship, education, veterinarian, volunteer and legacy.
Nominations are due to the Missouri Department of Agriculture by 5pm on Friday, September 16.
