Producers explore digital innovations in beef management at Tri-State Beef Tech Series
The Tri-State Beef Technology Series, hosted by SDSU Extension, ISU Extension, and UNL Extension, will take place on November 14 at the Eastern Nebraska Research Extension and Education Center (ENREEC) in Ithaca, Nebraska. Scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. CST, this event focuses on advancing precision livestock technologies for beef producers.
The program begins with registration at 9:30 a.m., followed by informative sessions on virtual fencing and wearable ear tags—tools that help monitor cattle movement, health, and grazing efficiency. Another highlight will be a presentation titled “Reading the Fine Print with Precision Livestock Technologies,” which aims to help producers understand how to select and use data-driven systems effectively.
SDSU Extension will also showcase its Precision Livestock Trailer, a mobile unit designed to demonstrate how digital tools and analytics can improve herd performance. After lunch and vendor networking, attendees will hear a UNL research update on the latest advancements in beef technology and take part in a guided tour of ENREEC and the Klosterman Feedlot Innovation Center.
