This system pushes seeds into the holes on the metering disk and then directs them through a pressurized seed tube straight into the furrow.
A key benefit of this system is improved control over seed movement, reducing seed bounce. This leads to better spacing in the field.
According to HORSCH, there are two main causes of seed bounce: unstable row units and poor seed release.
Maestro planters solve both by using a weight transfer system and hydraulic downforce to stabilize the row unit and by using air pressure for positive seed release.
The seed is caught by a catch wheel after exiting the seed tube, ensuring strong seed-to-soil contact. This results in faster emergence and improved plant growth.
The Maestro SX models also offer four closing wheel system options, including combinations like solid and spike wheels or double curved tines. These systems are built to handle rough field conditions and higher planting speeds.
Additionally, the new closing wheels include a heavy-duty bearing system to ensure long-lasting performance.
