Utah Company Recalls Beef Products for Potential E.coli Contamination

On the heels of the largest beef recall in Canadian history, an American company in Salt Lake City, Utah has issued a CLASS 1 recall for 2,310 pounds of ground beef products that may potentially be contaminated with E.coli 0157:H7. The recalled beef products in question include: 10_lb cases of “Ground Beef Bulk” and 12_lb cases of “Ground Beef Patties”. Cases bear the establishment number “EST 19916” which can be found inside the USDA mark of inspection as well as any of the following identifying lot numbers: "1018121," "1019121," "1018122," or "1019122."

The products in question were produced on October 18 and October 19, 2012 and were distributed to restaurants within Utah. Consumers and media with questions regarding the recall should contact the company's Food Safety Coordinator, Scott Schmidt, at (801) 484-5295.
