In 1980, the Federated Women’s Institute of Ontario nominated Chapman to the Ontario Agricultural Hall of Fame. She worked at the Women’s Institute Branch of the Ontario Department of Agriculture for 15 years. She was also the editor of the home section of the Farmers Magazine and editor of Home and Country for the Federated Women’s Institute of Ontario. Chapman wrote five books and served on many committees. She received an honorary doctor of laws from the University of Guelph and was an honorary president of the Ontario Junior Institute in 1974.
