8) USDA eases data collection for climate-smart farming

The U.S. Department of Agriculture's (USDA) decision to lower the data collection requirements for farmers participating in the Partnerships for Climate-Smart Commodities program has been met with approval from industry groups.

The program, designed to encourage the production of climate-smart commodities, had faced criticism for its initial heavy data demands, which deterred some farmers from participating.
