The Dairy Processors Association of Canada (DPAC) has been advised of a confirmed case of Bovine Tuberculosis (TB) on a dairy farm in Manitoba.
This case does not pose a risk to Canadian consumers. Pasteurization is proven to effectively destroy harmful bacteria, including those associated with Bovine TB. As such, pasteurized milk and pasteurized milk products remain safe to consume.
The safety of the milk supply is the highest priority for Canada’s dairy processors. As such, DPAC is actively monitoring the situation and remains in regular contact with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), Dairy Farmers of Canada, and relevant provincial partners.
