Members of Ontario’s beef farming community will make their way to London from Jan. 12 - 14 for the 19th annual Beef Industry Convention.
The two-day convention, hosted by the Ontario Cattle Feeders’ Association, will feature networking opportunities, an exhibitor trade show and a list of informative guest speakers.
“I am very excited to attend the Beef Conference this year,” Emma Butler, a marketing coordinator with Podolinksy Equipment and Fulline Farm & Garden Equipment, and beef and cash crop farmer, told Farms.com in an email. “The guest speaker line up will prove to be very informative, and I am especially looking forward to hearing Amberley Snyder speak and hope to network with and meet some new fellow beef-ers.”
Snyder is scheduled to speak on Friday, Jan. 13 at 3:15 p.m. As an inspirational speaker, Snyder’s presentation will encourage others to follow their dreams – especially women.

“She has proven that giving up on a dream should not be an option…” Butler said. “She is a very strong, confident woman, and I think she will add some real flavour to the lineup of speakers, as well as serve for a different perspective of agriculture. As an avid agvocate for not only women in agriculture, but youth in agriculture and young farmers, I have great anticipation for her presentation.”
Producers are also being encouraged to take the information they gain from the conference and share it with the public and educate them on the importance of Ontario’s beef sector.
“The more people we have talking about the many ways the beef industry supports the public, in many ways more than food, the more we stand to gain down the road,” Garth Graham, DVM area business manager for Genomics Zoetis Canada said in a statement on the convention’s website. “For the public to know their beef industry, we need to speak about ourselves just as much as those that like to speak on our behalf.”
Those interested in attending the convention must register beforehand.
Another upcoming conference is the Farms.com Precision Agriculture Conference, scheduled for Jan. 31 and Feb. 1.
