2024 McDonald Canada 4-H scholarship winners revealed
4-H Canada has announced the recipients of the 2024 McDonald’s Canada Future of Agriculture 4-H Scholarship.
This scholarship, worth $5,000 each, is awarded to senior 4-H members across Canada to help them pursue their educational goals in agriculture and related fields.
The 2024 recipients are as follows:
- Sophia Hoogland from Lacombe County, Alberta, studying a Bachelor of Science in Animal Bioscience
- Charlotte Quin from Victoria, British Columbia, studying in the Electrical Trades Foundation
- Halee Piasta from La Salle, Manitoba, pursuing a Bachelor of Science
- Brooklyn Piasta from La Salle, Manitoba, studying a Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness
- Jack Raymond from Waterford, New Brunswick, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering
- Madeleine Cullen from Everett, Ontario, studying a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science
- Chloe Loane from Kilmuir, Prince Edward Island, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture
- Skyler Preston from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, studying Animal Health Technology
Hugh Maynard, Interim CEO of 4-H Canada, emphasized the importance of agriculture’s role beyond farming, saying, “The impact of agriculture on our future goes well beyond the farm. Areas of expertise such as environmental protection, climate change, biodiversity conservation, food security, and more all play a critical role in securing a prosperous and sustainable future for Canada’s agriculture sector.”
