The Lower Mainland Horticulture Improvement Association (LMHIA) will provide a Grower’s Short Course where they’ll discuss issues involved with fruits and vegetables, pesticides, and agricultural economics.
There will also be a two-day Agri-Energy & Waste Management forum. Starting on January 30th, visitors will be able to educate themselves on how to manage waste, reduce cost, and diversify income. They’ll also be able to visit BC’s newest anaerobic digester.
Anaerobic digesters are used to break down biodegradable material to produce things like natural gas or transportation fuels.
Other topics covered will include environmental farm plans, nutrient and waste management, and pyrolysis opportunities and challenges.
