Frances Elena Farmer was an American actress and TV personality probably best known for her work in 1936's Come and Get It. However, shortly after the film's release, Farmer's behavior changed. She was arrested for drunk driving in 1942 and eventually deemed mentally ill and placed in an institution. Between 1958 and 1964, she hosted her own show, Frances Farmer Presents, a show that discussed vintage movies and interviewed the actors who starred in them. The show had initial success and became one of the first locally produced TV shows to be broadcast in color.
