Video: Community Renewable Energy Basics
Renewable or alternative energy is great, but renewable energy with direct benefits to our communities that go beyond generating electricity is even better – that is community renewable energy.
Communities across Alberta are finding their own paths to bringing solar or wind projects to their communities and capturing the spin-off benefits of those projects whether it is financing a community development fund, local job creation or helping out a community institution with its electrical bill.
Community renewable energy is a relatively new approach to energy generation in Alberta and in this webinar recording we have put together a panel of speakers who are either making these projects happen or are tracking their progress.
The presenters: Marc Baxter, Municipal Climate Change Action Centre; Derek Leahy, Rural Routes to Climate Solutions and; Seth Leon, Alberta Community & Co-operative Association.
