With the recent rains, weeds are starting to pop up in some fields.
Tammy Jones is a weed specialist with Manitoba Agriculture.
"There's certainly some growth out in those fields," she said. "It is a good time to go out and scout to make sure that you know what is the green stuff in the field and then figure out a plan based on that."
Jones says she wouldn't worry about annual weeds, rather it's the perennial and biennial weeds that could be a concern.
She adds that producers don't always need to look at chemical control all the time, noting a light harrow might also do the trick this fall.
