USDA Export Sales Report

Wheat:   Net sales of 265,800 metric tons for delivery in the 2014/2015 marketing year were down 40 percent from the previous week and 32 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (52,100 MT), the Philippines (50,000 MT), Yemen (45,000 MT), unknown destinations (39,100 MT), Japan (25,200 MT), and Taiwan (20,900 MT).  Decreases were reported for Brazil (3,000 MT).  Exports of 154,700 MT--a marketing-year low--were down 43 percent from the previous week and 67 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were South Korea (52,100 MT), Mexico (29,100 MT), Brazil (27,000 MT), Nigeria (18,800 MT), Taiwan (16,000 MT), and Italy (6,600 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 40,000 MT, all Algeria.

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 40,500 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales of 478,200 MT for 2014/2015 were down 2 percent from the previous week and 55 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were reported for unknown destinations (195,700 MT), Peru (76,500 MT, including 30,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (69,100 MT), Colombia (60,200 MT, including 30,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Canada (29,000 MT), and the Dominican Republic (20,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for Guatemala (12,400 MT) and Japan (2,400 MT). Exports of 444,000 MT were primarily to Mexico (112,600 MT), Japan (95,700 MT), Egypt (54,400 MT), Costa Rica (38,800 MT), Colombia (32,100 MT), Peru (30,000 MT), and Guatemala (19,800 MT).

Barley:  Net sales of 400 MT for 2014/2015 were reported for South Korea (300 MT) and Taiwan (100 MT).  Exports of 500 MT were reported to Taiwan (400 MT) and South Korea (100 MT).

Sorghum:  Net sales of 181,300 MT for 2014/2015 reported for unknown destinations (113,000 MT) and China (71,100 MT), were partially offset by decreases for Japan (2,700 MT).  Exports of 67,100 MT were reported to China (51,600 MT) and Japan (15,500 MT).  

Rice:  Net sales of 63,200 MT for 2014/2015 were down 33 percent from the previous week and 18 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Venezuela (30,000 MT), Colombia (16,300 MT), El Salvador (3,900 MT, including 1,100 MT switched from unknown destinations), Guatemala (3,600 MT, including 3,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Mexico (3,200 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (3,900 MT).  Exports of 45,900 MT were down 25 percent from the previous week and 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Turkey (13,500 MT), Ghana (7,000 MT), Honduras (5,800 MT), Mexico (4,000 MT), and El Salvador (3,900 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 1,609,900 MT for 2014/2015 were up 28 percent from the previous week and 22 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were primarily for China (1,604,200 MT, including 557,000 MT switched from unknown destinations, 55,000 MT switched from Spain, and decreases of 80,600 MT), Mexico (231,300 MT), the Netherlands (101,900 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from Egypt and 40,500 MT switched from unknown destinations, and decreases of 400 MT), Portugal (73,000 MT, including 66,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Vietnam (67,800 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from unknown destinations).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (651,800 MT), Spain (47,000 MT), and Egypt (11,300 MT).  Net Sales of 3,200 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Japan.  Exports of 2,915,600 MT--a marketing-year high--were up 64 percent from the previous week and 89 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (2,292,900 MT), Vietnam (75,600 MT), Portugal (73,000 MT), Mexico (72,200 MT), Spain (68,000 MT), Egypt (66,000 MT), and South Korea (60,000 MT).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2014/2015, outstanding optional origin sales total 1,055,000 MT, and are for China (829,000 MT), Egypt (121,000 MT), unknown destinations (60,000 MT), and Mexico (45,000 MT).  Options exercised to export the commodity from other than the United States were for China (55,500 MT) and Egypt (20,700 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  Exports for own account totaling 44,100 MT, all Canada.

Export Adjustments:  Accumulated exports to China were decreased 64,085 MT for week ending October 23, 2014.  

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales reductions of 123,700 MT for 2014/2015 resulted as increases for Thailand (104,700 MT, including 45,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 300 MT), Colombia (26,500 MT, including 15,000 MT switched from Panama and decreases of 7,300 MT), Poland (25,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Latvia (17,500 MT, including 15,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Costa Rica (15,500 MT), were more than offset by decreases for unknown destinations (306,800 MT), Panama (15,300 MT), and Mexico (10,100 MT).   Net sales of 800 MT for 2015/2016 were reported for Mexico.  Exports of 307,600 MT were reported to Vietnam (51,200 MT), Italy (43,500 MT), Venezuela (32,000 MT), Poland (25,000 MT), and Ireland (22,900 MT).   

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 13,900 MT for 2014/2015 reported for Jamaica (3,500 MT), Nicaragua (3,200 MT), Peru (2,500 MT), the Dominican Republic (2,200 MT), Panama (1,500 MT), and Mexico (1,400 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (2,000 MT).  Exports of 9,100 MT were reported to Mexico (3,300 MT), Panama (2,000 MT), Nicaragua (1,800 MT), and Guatemala (1,000 MT).

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 65,000 RB for 2014/2015 were down 65 percent from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (29,200 RB, including 8,800 RB switched from Indonesia and decreases of 4,900 RB), Vietnam (7,800 RB), Peru (7,700 RB), South Korea (5,300 RB), and Italy (4,400 RB).   Decreases were reported for El Salvador (700 RB) and Pakistan (600 RB).  Net sales of 200 RB for 2015/2016 were reported for Japan.  Exports of 65,000 RB--a marketing-year low--were down 8 percent from the previous week and 18 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (11,800 RB), China (11,000 RB), Turkey (6,200 RB), Indonesia (5,900 RB), and South Korea (3,100 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 6,300 RB for 2014/2015--a marketing year-high--were up 24 percent from the previous week and up noticeably from the prior 4-week average.   Increases for China (6,000 RB), Thailand (400 RB), Japan (300 RB), and Indonesia (100 RB), were partially offset by decreases for Pakistan (500 RB).  Exports of 1,300 RB were primarily to China (400 RB), Bangladesh (400 RB) and Pakistan (300 RB).

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2013/2014, outstanding optional origin sales total 16,200 RB, and are for Thailand (11,300 RB), South Korea (4,600 RB), and Vietnam (300 RB). 

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 54,900 RB, all China.

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 323,800 pieces were down 27 percent from the previous week and 12 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 303,400 pieces were primarily for China (144,100 pieces), South Korea (119,100 pieces), Taiwan (26,200 pieces), and Mexico (9,500 pieces).  Exports of 306,800 pieces were down 16 percent from the previous week and 12 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 298,500 pieces were primarily to China (216,000 pieces), South Korea (40,100 pieces), Mexico (10,800 pieces), Taiwan (8,100 pieces), and Thailand (7,700 pieces).

Net sales of 7,200 wet blues for 2014 were down 97 percent from the previous week and 95 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for China (4,800 unsplit and 800 grain splits), the Dominican Republic (4,800 unsplit), Vietnam (2,400 unsplit), India (2,200 grain splits), Mexico (1,700 grain splits), and South Korea (100 grain splits), were more than offset by decreases for Taiwan (9,100 unsplit), South Korea (300 unsplit), Italy (100 unsplit), and the Dominican Republic (100 grain splits).  Net sales of 12,900 wet blues for 2015 were for Taiwan (9,000 unsplit) and China (3,900 grain splits).  Exports of 139,500 wet blues were primarily to China (33,300 unsplit and 27,300 grain splits), Italy (20,000 unsplit), Mexico (16,800 grain splits), and Vietnam (16,000 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 2,484,900 pounds for 2014 were for South Korea (2,886,500 pounds) and Taiwan (88,000 pounds).  Decreases were reported for China (392,000 pounds) and Hong Kong (97,700 pounds).  Net sales of splits totaling 2,587,800 pounds for 2015 were for South Korea (1,951,400 pounds) and China (636,400 pounds).  Exports of 809,500 pounds were reported to South Korea (716,500 pounds), Hong Kong (50,000 pounds), and China (43,000 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 6,900 MT for 2014 were down 66 percent from the previous week and 45 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for South Korea (2,000 MT), Canada (1,200 MT), Japan (1,100 MT), Hong Kong (1,000 MT), and Mexico (800 MT).  Net sales of 2,800 MT for 2015 were reported for Japan (2,700 MT) and Canada (100 MT).  Exports of 13,900 MT were up 7 percent from the previous week, but down 1 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (3,800 MT), Hong Kong (3,600 MT), South Korea (2,200 MT), Mexico (1,800 MT), and Canada (1,000 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 28,400 MT for 2014 were up noticeably from the previous week and 55 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (10,900 MT), South Korea (4,300 MT), China (3,500 MT), Hong Kong (2,400 MT), and Canada (2,300 MT).  Exports of 26,300 MT were primary to Mexico (8,700 MT), Japan (4,600 MT), South Korea (4,100 MT), Canada (2,500 MT), and Hong Kong (2,000 MT).
