Update 46: Alberta wildfire situation (June 20, 4:30 p.m.)

Phased re-entry operations for Fort Chipewyan are planned to begin later this week.

Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation council will host a telephone town hall for all evacuees today, starting at 6:30 p.m.

General community re-entry for Fort Chipewyan residents is scheduled to begin on Thursday, June 22.

Re-entry for Fort Chipewyan residents with mobility issues or health conditions is scheduled to begin on Saturday, June 24.

An evacuation order remains in effect for Little River Cree Nation – Fox Lake.

A four-hour wildfire evacuation alert remains in effect for Edson. Residents should be ready to leave in a short time frame if conditions worsen.

Yellowhead County and the Town of Edson have issued states of local emergency due to heavy rain and flooding.
